2016 Jeep Wrangler vs 2015 Jeep Wrangler
Serving Chattanooga, Cleveland, Red Bank, Hixson, TN
The 2016 Jeep Wrangler has taken up where its predecessor, the 2015 Wrangler, left off. The new Wrangler offers more fun in a well-tested format that has pleased off-roaders for generations. The Wrangler’s classic sense of adventure continues with its trail-riding prowess, an open air capability, and smart features.
The Wrangler’s new styles are sure to please shoppers who seek a truly unique ride. The most exciting limited edition is the Red Rock. This spiced-up Rubicon has amaretto brown seats made of Katzkin leather. It also has a specially-designed exterior that feels more upscale. Based on the Sport, the Black Bear edition is more readily available. Inside, the black seats are offset by a special gray trim. On the outside, there are black accents to go with a special green or gray color choice. The hood sports a trail map decal. The name reflects the Colorado road, called the Black Bear Pass, which challenges the driver with switchbacks and steep drops.
Performance
Jeep puts a priority on performance. It has to make sure that its off-roading vehicles have the power and torque to handle trail challenges. That’s why the 2015 Wrangler and 2016 Wrangler have a 285-horsepower engine. This V-6 powertrain can deliver more torque at lower revs, ensuring that you have a true partner when riding the trail. If the smart six-speed manual isn’t your style, you can opt for a beefy six-speed automatic. For four-wheel drive, Wrangler enthusiasts can choose between the off-roading CommandTrac and the extra heavy-duty RockTrack. This Jeep has high ground clearance, numerous skid plates, and an electronic-disconnect sway bar.
Appearance
Like the 2015 editions, the 2016 Wrangler’s many styles include the Willy’s Wheeler, the sporty Sahara, and the upscale Rubicon Hard Rock. Drivers can opt for two-door, four-seat Wranglers or four-door, five-seat Wrangler Unlimiteds. Rough riding is more fun with the Wrangler’s ability to shed its roof, doors and windshield in pursuit of adventure. There isn’t a convertible, much less an SUV, that can live up to this open air experience. Jeep’s special touches include illuminated cupholders and other interior courtesy lighting. The 2015 Wrangler added more soft-touch padding and features. The 2016 Wrangler continues this trend toward greater comfort and sophistication. The cockpit-like driver’s seat is matched with intelligent technologies and an ergonomic design.
Safety
On the road or off, the Jeep Wrangler is designed for strength and durability. Stability is a key component of the SUV’s traction systems. Electronics correct thrust and brake distribution to maintain traction on turns and curves. All-wheel drive definitely gives you that Jeep advantage when the SUV is confronted by snow, mud or other terrain challenges. The 2016 edition has a strengthened B-pillar. More high-strength steel has been added at the point of attachment to keep it firmly in place during impact. Wide-spaced frame rails and skid plates protect the vulnerable fuel tank. If the Wrangler is towing, the Jeep employs trailer sway control for a safer ride.
The Wrangler line-up is available now at Crown Jeep in Cleveland. You'll find a variety of colors and styles to match your adventurous personality.
