Performance

The 2016 Jeep Patriot is designed to be more powerful than the previous generation. There are two four-cylinder engine choices -- 2.0-liter and 2.4-liter. The 2.0-liter engine offers 158-horsepower while the 2.4-liter engine boosts the power to 172-horsepower. For smooth engine transitions, there is a six-speed automatic transmission with overdrive available. A five-speed manual transmission is also available for those who want more control. Finally, a two-speed continuously variable transmission with overdrive is also available for people who want better fuel economy and the smoothest ride possible. With a continuously variable transmission, you'll never feel the engine shift between gears.

Interior

The interior of the vehicle comes with the option of leather upholstery. There are also split-folding rear seats, which can make it easier to carry extra luggage, and make room for larger items. The interior of the 2016 Patriot has as much cabin space as the previous model, but the seats and dashboard offer a sleeker, sportier appearance.
